Re-engagement coupon with automatic reminders

Sometimes you need to incentivize dormant customers and there's no better way to do it than with a fun coupon campaign with automatic reminders running for 3 weeks โŒ›

What are we going to do? ๐Ÿค”

  • Create a dedicated customer segment for dormant customers based on the last purchased order criterion.
  • Design a coupon campaign.
  • Launch automatic distribution with automated coupon reminders.

Create a new segment for inactive customers ๐Ÿ’ค

Go to the Customers tab and start the creation of a new segment by naming it and choosing proper criteria.

We are going to base our segment on the last purchased order. For the purpose of this tutorial, we've decided that a customer has to make the last purchase 180 days before being dubbed 'dormant', but your business can have a different definition for what inactivity stands for ๐Ÿค“

Launch a coupon campaign ๐Ÿ›’

To create a campaign, go to Campaigns tab โ†’ Create a Campaign (plus) โ†’ Bulk Codes Campaign.

Let's offer our customers a $30 discount on all products from our store for orders above $150, redeemable once per customer. 

Keep in mind that you can change the currency per project in your Project Settings ๐Ÿ’ฐ

Provide some details of your campaign: name, voucher number, code pattern

๐Ÿ’ก Checking the Auto-Update box means that Voucherify will automatically add new vouchers to your campaign if you run out of the original pool of vouchers.

Next, establish the optional time frame of your campaign; if you do not select the end date of your campaign it would run forever and would have to be stopped manually.

We are going to launch a campaign for the whole month of November. In addition, we intend to make our vouchers active for 30 days after publishing, so even if a customer is sent a discount at the end of a campaign, he/she still gets a month to redeem it ๐Ÿค“

Proceed to define the type (percentage, amount, unit) and value of the discount.

Next, define validation rules that are going to limit the discount eligibility to chosen criteria. The rules that we've chosen for this campaign are as follow โฌ‡๏ธ

  • the coupon is valid only for customer from the Dormant customer segment,
  • the coupon is valid only for orders above $149.99,
  • the coupon is redeemable only once per customer to prevent fraud attempts.

Save your campaign and move on to distribution โœ…

Automatic Code Distribution ๐Ÿ“ฎ

To start a new distribution, go to the Distributions tab โ†’ Create Distribution (plus).

Next, select the purpose of the distribution and choose the campaign that you'd like to distribute.

In the 3rd step, define the trigger for the message send-out. You can choose between 7 different events. For our tutorial, we are going to use Customer entered segment event as a trigger โฐ

You should also segment your audience according to marketing permissions to avoid false spam reports and privacy violations. 

In the 4th step title your message - make it catchy and direct; you can also use emojis to make it stand out more.

In the 5th step, choose your preferred messaging channel. For us, it's email, but notice that you can choose between different options including the most popular communication providers, like MailChimp ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Your email is going to be sent from Voucherify by default, but you can also use your own custom domain

Proceed to design your message. 

You can choose between a default template and a configurable flyer that offers more customization possibilities, such as social links, colors, CTAs and more๐Ÿ–๏ธ

Add automatic reminders โš ๏ธ

You will find reminders at the bottom of the email creator.

You can create a number of reminders and state after how many days should the message be sent, for us it's 7, 14, and 21 as we want to remind our customers about their unredeemed coupons 3 times.  

You can design each reminder message separately, but you also can reuse the design of the first reminder and repeat it for the remaining two.
